Few people need a case this big or expensive. However, if you are will to pay for the privilege, you’ll find this case is well suited to any kind of high-end system build. The powerful airflow lends its self well to a workstation or rendering rig, and the design is slick and professional enough to look great in the office.

Personally, for its exceptional thermal performance and eye-catching aesthetics (not to mention solid build quality), I can easily recommend the Torrent to anyone looking for a high-airflow case in this price range.

Overall if you are looking for a high airflow case I think this case should be towards the top of your list. It does carry a premium price though.

Fractal Design’s Torrent offers a totally different design from what we’re used to, but the end result is a pretty unique and powerful chassis.

Conservative users such as yours truly may favour the quiet sophistication of Define 7, but for those wanting to try something different, Torrent represents an enticing foundation for a spectacular build.

Fractal Design has finally gone beyond the trusted and true with the Torrent. No longer simply a variant of a single core chassis tooling, the Torrent goes beyond with a new interior as well. It is a big, bulky, modern statement of a chassis that allows for massive air-cooling without compromise and has all the usual fixings for liquid-cooling enthusiasts.

The Torrent is a completely different housing than we are used to from Fractal Design, with full focus on airflow instead of silence. The build quality of the housing is fine, although from a distance you might hope for an aluminum front instead of the plastic. The cooling performance is more than excellent and the Torrent has excellent sound characteristics, as long as you don’t let the five (!) supplied fans run full. If you include the supplied fans, the price is not too bad. After all, there are few cabinets in this segment that perform so well and are supplied with five large fans.

Fractal Design has once again just flat out knocked it out of the park with the new Torrent. If absurd amounts of airflow are something you crave, A builder-friendly chassis is what you need and lots of options are a prerequisite, the Fractal Torrent should be number one on your shortlist.

By delivering low noise levels, tons of airflow and some of the best thermals that we have ever seen, Fractal’s Torrent is easily the best case that we have looked at this year. For that, The Fractal Torrent deserves our highest award. This is currently the best airflow case on the market, and for that, it deserves high praise.

Fractal Design Torrent is a decent case but it came close to being superb. So close.
